About the artist

Behind Serenity Artworks is an intentionally quiet presence.

Working from a place of introversion and anonymity, the artist chooses to step into the background, allowing the artwork itself to hold the space, speak the words, and convey the emotion. The pieces created are not meant to depict the external world, but rather to map out what lies beneath — contemplative works of inner landscapes.

The Medium and the Process.

The work is driven by a deep reverence for raw, physical materials. Working primarily with charcoal on canvas, alongside charcoal and watercolor on heavy paper, the creative process is an archival dialogue between shadows and light. Charcoal offers an uncompromising, velvet darkness — a representation of the raw, earthbound parts of our psyche. In contrast, the fluid and unpredictable nature of watercolor brings a spiritual, emotional light to the surface. Each mark is deliberate, yet allowed to breathe; an honest celebration of the texture of the material and the human hand that guided it.

The Genesis of Heartlands.

Every series has a beginning — a threshold crossed. For this body of work, that threshold was a single piece titled Heartlands. It began as a persistent image in the mind — a visual echo that could not be ignored. The process of translating this image onto canvas with charcoal became an act of transformation and therapy. Through its creation, heavy and painful seasons were processed, integrated, and finally released. When the piece was finished, the burden had dissolved, leaving behind a profound sense of serenity. This personal journey continues to inform the ongoing series of minimalist figurative art — pieces born in the silence of the studio, offered to those who seek a quiet space to reflect, to breathe, and to remember their own inner terrain.

Having lost several of the closest people in life, the work carries the knowledge that grief is a shared human experience. Rather than dwelling on the pain itself, these works illuminate the strength that can emerge on the other side — the reminder that all we truly have are moments, and that love, care, and kindness — toward others and ourselves — are what give them meaning.
