“Unrooted”
The Evolution of Unrooted
As the second piece in this ongoing series, Unrooted explores the space that opens up after a transformation has begun. Drawn with charcoal on canvas, this work captures the unsettling yet necessary feeling of detachment. It depicts the moment when the old foundations have crumbled, but the new landscape has not yet fully formed. The birds in flight and the stark branches mirror an internal shift—a mind caught between leaving the past behind and searching for a new place to anchor. Creating Unrooted honors the fragile state of transition, marking an early step in a broader visual and emotional journey that continues to unfold on canvas.
